Flight Surgeon's Diagnosis: excitedexcited

Good lovely day to you all!

I am so excited to see that such a community exists! I attended the Space Camp session specifically geared to people with visual impairments and LOVED it! Since then, I've been hooked on space exploration!

Some of my favorite experiences during my time there were 1) the "space food" (that good ol' dehydrated ice cream -- mmmm...chocolate!), 2) the simulators (though, since I've always been afraid of inversion, I absolutely REFUSED to go on the Multi-Axis trainer!), 3) the MISSIONS especially! (During the first, I was an MS and during the second, the CAPCOM.)

I remember on the way down to the event and on the way back, I spent much time sleeping or talking to folks on my HT ham radio. Of course, my absolute *crush* was sitting to my right and once FELL ASLEEP ON MY RIGHT SHOULDER!!! I was like, "Ohmygosh, this is AMAZING... Plus, I don't want to be responsible for him getting whip-lash when we go over huge bumps in the raod...!

At any rate, I digress...

In a way, I wish that I would've thought about journalling my experiences while there. But, since I didn't, many of my memories are really quite vague, so I'm hoping that the discussion on this community will jog my memory.

YAY. A Space Camp community people are actually JOINING!!! I have searched as long as I have been on LJ (about 2 years, originally on another username), and I find lots of Huntsville ones but I never found a Space Camp one 'till now. I formed one for a while, but... no one...joined it. So I figured no one wanted to. Yay! Space Camp people!:) I heard about this on Hab1.com. OK so hi. I'm Lisa, I love space camp. I also like drawing, dancing, swimming, nature, Earth, science, church, listening to music, playing on the computer and some other stuff. I go to Kennesaw State Univ. in Kennesaw, GA, outside of Atlanta. Second year starts August 19. :D If you've got any more questions just ask. As far as Space Camp reminiscing in my journal, it IS there, but I post alot so you might have to search, and some of it might be friends/private, since I archived stuff from my other journal and made it all private. I might go back and tag it later, if I can figure out how that works.
Alright, well my sister's in so I'm out.

w00t! i'm jumping on the bandwagon of Space Camp on the web! i thought we needed a presence in livejournal, and so i made a community! keep up with the other kids on the web by reading the friends page, post questions or comments or anything else regarding camp, or space, or just whatever on the main page.

to start us off, i thought i'd post a couple of links sent to me by a fellow counselor from 2004. these are what made me think that maybe there would be enough interest in having a camp community.

so that's all i've got for now. i'm going to go push the community on the promo lj. hope to see you guys soon!
